How To Be “Paver Wise”
Wednesday, March 11th, 2009In order that you might be a smarter shopper, we have compiled a short list of questions to ask a potential brick paving contractor. We believe that when fairly compared to any other contractor, Antonelli Landscape stands out.
Home Office – Does the contractor have a permanent place of business or just a P.O. Box?
Qualified – Is Brick Paving his primary business?
Finances – Is the contractor financially stable?
Insurance – Is the contractor adequately insured? Workman’s Comp. and Liability? Insurance binders should be supplied prior to contracting with any contractor.
Approved Installation – Does the contractor use manufacturer’s recommendations for installation? Has he shown you those specifications?
Will the base be a three-part (granular stone/aggregate/sand) 9″ base for driveways and 6″ depth for other areas?
Will compaction of the base be accomplished in “lifts” (stages), rather than all at once?
Will there be no more than 1″ of bedding sand used under pavers?
Will the contractor guarantee levelness and integrity?
Does the contractor provide a detailed plan prior to starting the job?
Is the contractor Unilock certified?
